November 30th marks the feast day the Apostle, St Andrew, founder and patron of the see of ConstantinopleThis saint, brother of the first pope, is the patron of Eastern Christianity, and it is appropriate and providential that His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI should meet today.

Note: St Andrew is the patron of the Church of Constantinople, not of all the Eastern Churches. The non-Greek Byzantines don't count St Andrew as their patron.
